Nanduri Govinda Raju (ASTRORAJU) is from a family of scholars. His father, Dr.Nanduri Ramakrishnamacharya, is a well known poet and a writer in English and Telugu. AstroRaju has learnt astrology from his father and grandfather from his childhood.
NG Raju is a graduate with distinction in Mechanical Engineering (REC, Warangal) and a post graduate (M.Tech) in Industrial Engineering and Management. He held senior positions in Central Government {Principal Scientific Officer in Ministry of Defence (DGQA)} and in Public Limited companies (Vice President - Quality in Infotech Enterprises Ltd., currently Cyient Ltd.,).
Raju has carried out extensive research in astrology for the past 50 years and provided service for thousands of individuals from political, business and professional fields. He mastered the art of predictions, Match making of horoscopes for Marriages and Muhurtas for various celebrations/ events. His technical knowledge coupled with his experiences in astrology helped him to develop various predictive Astro software applications by himself.
He feels that there are two misnomers in the minds of people on astrology. First one - The Horoscopic report with predictions cannot fe followed by them as the astrologers use typical words which are unfamiliar to general public. As such, People are reluctant to read and try to understand the Horoscopes / Predictions. Second one – Computerised output of predictions might have not considered various complex conditions applicable or specified in Indian Predictive Astrological texts. In 1980 to 1990, many companies brought out computerized predictive software applications. At that time, most of the people who took the services were not happy as the Astro software applications developed could not take into consideration, the complex conditions / exceptions specified in SLOKAS of Indian Predictive Astrological texts and as such didn't reflect actual realities of life.
To counter the first issue, ASTRO RAJU felt the need to provide predictions with less Astro terms and also that predictions be quantified with success as a score in a scale of PERCENTAGE which is well known from their child hood in education. With this, individuals with least education, will also be able to understand the report. If marks attained is less than 35% it is a failure, if marks obtained is > 35% and < 55%- it is an average successs, if marks obtained is > 55% and < 75%- it is a good successs and if marks obtained is more than 75% - it is excellent.
To counter the second issue, persons who develop software applications need to be fully proficient in the domain knowledge of astrology. Around 1984, NG Raju, who was prominent as an astrologer with good experience, felt that this requirement can be taken care by him. As such, he learnt software development and took voluntary retirement in Jan 1995 from his job and developed several Astro software aplications in course of time spanning around 38 years.
